TV / GOSSIP: ‘True Blood’ Turns Straight Character Gay
A straight character on True Blood will be entering into a gay relationship this season.
“…perhaps no transformation in the show’s colorful history will come as quite as great a shock as the one that we find out about during the HBO hit’s ferociously anticipated fourth season, premiering June 26: A major character, heretofore heterosexual, will be involved in a same-sex romance. I’m not going to reveal any more clues about the character…so as not to risk getting fanged by series creator Alan Ball. However, I will say that, having witnessed the big reveal, it doesn’t feel gimmicky. In fact, after the initial shock wears off, I imagine you will do what I did and go, ‘Yeah. Makes total sense.’”
TRAILER: Angry Boys
COMEDIAN Chris Lilley has released the first glimpse of his highly-anticipated new comedy series Angry Boys.
Lilley plays multiple characters on the new show, which features the return of identical twins Daniel and Nathan Sims from We Can Be Heroes.
A new Lilley character is Jen Okazaki, a Japanese wife and mother of three.
She is described as “an ambitious tyrant whose primary focus is her son, Tim, who she trained and pushed into becoming a skateboarding champion”.
Lilley says Angry Boys is a look at today’s boys – their influences, pressures, dreams and ambitions.
The 12-part series has been filmed in Australia, the USA and Japan.
Angry Boys comes nearly four years after Lilley’s highly-acclaimed Summer Heights High and is much bigger in scale.
The ABC/BBC/HBO co-production includes 89 main roles and 1228 extras and was filmed in more than 70 locations.
