LAVISH | Cassandra Moore performing Heartbreak On Hold (Alexandra Burke)

Last weekend Cassandra Moore gave us another powerful piece, Heartbreak On Hold By X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke. The matching outfits were custom made and the piece was choreographed by Paul C. Thank you Cassie & team for a perfect show!
Are you “dead in bed, with a thousand tears to shed” from a break up? Press play, sing and dance along because tonight “it’s time to let it go…put your heartbreak on hold!”
Thanks again for another fun weekend! We owe it to you for keeping the party alive!
“I tried everything to get over you
Tryin’ to make it through but nothing ever seems to work
Dead in the bed, a thousand tears were shed
You should get out my head
Nothing takes away the hurt
I can’t stay here can’t stay
I’m going out tonight
I’m dancing all alone (heartbreak on hold)
Close my eyes
It’s time to let it go (heartbreak on hold)
I’m gonna take it to the dance floor doing it on my own
Tonight putting my heartbreak on hold (heartbreak on hold)
Heartbreak on hold”

[ARTICLE/LGBTQ] Ru Paul like to the word “Tranny” (huff post)
The new season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” which begins on January 30 on Logo, is “Gaga-esque,” with the competing queens displaying themselves as “crunchy or monstery or moist,” explains the drag icon and entertainer RuPaul himself. “They speak reality TV so fluently. They don’t even have to be produced. They’re ready to roll.”
In an interview with SiriusXM OutQ and HuffPost Gay Voices, RuPaul talked all about the popular reality show in which drag queens face off, kicking off its fourth season, and he weighed in on other matters, including the the latest queer controversies, offering comments which are bound to have people talking.
Of the ABC sitcom, “Work It,” in which two straight men dress in drag in order to get jobs and which has been criticized by gay and transgender activists for mocking transgender women, RuPaul implores the activists: “Don’t take life so seriously… We live in a culture where everyone is offended by everything.”
On Lance Bass’s apology for using the word “tranny,” Rupaul says: “It’s ridiculous! It’s ridiculous!… I love the word “tranny”…And I hate the fact that he’s apologized. I wish he would have said, ‘F-you, you tranny jerk!’”
And RuPaul has some observations about presidential politics: “Politicians are really like show people, people in show business — except that they have not as good costumes in politics. You have to appeal to the masses in show business. You appeal to Betty and Joe Beer Can. For someone like Obama to survive — he’s a very smart man — he’s had to do some dumb things because people don’t want the truth. It’s the same thing with drag.”
[LAVISH] New Years Eve 2012 (glitter | local company | sexy summer)
JANUARY EVENTS CALENDAR
FULL NYE2012 PHOTO GALLERY
Out with the old and in with the new! RIGHTTT…. If there was one thing you could not leave behind in 2011 – it was the GLITTER! Glitter was all over your hair, your body, in your drinks, shoes, bed, and all over Twitter and Facebook the next morning! When you thought you washed it all out, in the right reflection there sits a glimmer of 2011 beneath your eye. It’s crazy how small speckles of particle made such a big impact! Thank you so much to James Wilkinson for capturing all the highlights of the evening!
The Eve of 2012 goes in my history books not because of the glitter, be-cause it’s always a treat seeing all the old faces coming together one last time before we head into a new exciting chapter. LAVISH New Years Eve has always been about ‘local company’. With all the out of town students gone and London locals coming back home for the holidays, it’s a very home-y evening which is always extra special. A special thanks goes out to our local entertainers, Leigha Divine-Dior, Cardiff & Victoria Moore. I must add, Cardiff really stepped it up with her ‘Marry The Night’ performance and props to Victoria Moore for sewing her own evening gown! A special thanks also goes out to Laura Gagnon for hopping on board last minute to sing Auld Lang Syne live for the very first time at LAVISH (her voice gives me the chills)!
So enough with the sappy shit, what’s new and exciting at LAVISH for 2012? A sexy summer! You can blame that on ELEVATE (the top) above LAVISH (the bottom). We are SOOO excited to reveal our biggest renovation since opening! ELEVATE (new roof top patio) is opening this summer, and if the world doesn’t end in 2012 then we can even use it again in 2013 – How amazing!!!
I leave you with a little video memory below from the countdown as I start my New Year Resolution – eat healthier, get back into shape, treat myself more and pay off my MASSIVE rooftop patio debt (because no one wants to dance on cheap patio that might collapse through the roof).
See you next weekend,
Eddy
