Check out the video + pictures from this past weekend courtesy of Ben Clouthier!
We invited Cassandra back to #MarryTheNight! A song I’ve always wanted her to perform at LAVISH!
I dried the wet stage as much as I could but she still slipped in the beginning and the “hospital scene” could have turned into real life drama! Cassandra obviously picked her self back up like a true #Warriorqueen.
What else can I say, I loved this production so much, the energy from the crowd was immense and it was amazing seeing everyone dance their asses off right into the AM. Also….Check out the nurse on the right, he’s got a great ass…BAM (Jesse Weafer from SYTYCD).
Thanks for spicing it up with us for our first bollywood night at LAVISH! It was a huge success and we had a blast putting the whole themed event together! Although themed events require much more time, effort and money, it’s so worth it when 12:30 strikes and the ‘stars are aligned’ for a quick 5 minutes:
1. The decor
2. The packed club
3. People dancing to the bollywood jam
4. The bollywood show starts
5. …And then the crowd goes wild!
Most people don’t even recollect this “magical moment” (LOL), but I soak in those 5 minutes like no other and that makes the extra effort worth it! Normally mid-January is when LAVISH does the ‘Garden Of Eden’ party but we wanted to mix it up a bit and I couldn’t resist Bollywood! Saturday started out with a shopping trip to purchase pink and orange fabric. With the help of my good friends Jake & Pablo we managed to put it up in 3 hours – and this time none of the decor got ripped down by the end of the night – SCORE!
During decorating hours I got a text from Cardiff (local drag queen) who wanted to open for Cassandra. I thought why not, this could entertaining…and it sure was! When her Sari (Indian dress) started falling off all I could think was “shit, I hope no one is getting offended”. With that said, Cardiff continues to grow as an drag performer…
In cased you missed (or couldn’t remember) Cassandra Moore’s performance, Ben Clouthier captured the amazing show! The beautiful outfits were custom made especially for ‘Bollywood Nights’, and the Bollywood style performance to Rihanna’s smash hit ‘We Found Love’ got people wild!
This weekend is the big themed event at Lavish, BOLLYWOOD NIGHTS starring Cassandra Moore! Every time there’s a themed event my friends are I become dorks and really get into the event days before the weekend! We’re probably gonna have a Bollywood movie night this week (Slumdog Millionaire, Pride and Prejudice, etc) and have already been dancing to Bollywood songs on Just Dance (for Xbox Kinect or PS3). Check out our 3rd attempt to Jai Ho! You can also learn the moves on the YouTube video below. It’s the best game ever & gets your heart racing real fast!
we dropped ‘roc me out’ for the first time in the club lastnight and things got real dirrrty! ‘roc me out’ (is not the next single, but) it’s such a grimy track and got people real hot on the steamy dance floor.
we debuted a lot of new tracks for the first weekend back in 2012 that will mostly likely stay in rotation for the next couple weeks! check out a few of the sexy selects:
Sia – Wild Ones (Miami Life Remix) – amazing vocals (without Flo Rida) makes my life when i hear it loud on the sound system
Neon Hitch – Fuck U Betta – hold onto your boy/girl, or that betch staring in the corner will fuck him/her betta
Dada Life – Happy Violence (Special Features Remix) – so perfect
Florence & The Machine – What The Water Gave Me (Romeo Blanco Remix) -very culty, this song will get you addicted and high on the music
Scissor Sisters Vs. Krystal Pepsy, Shady Love -so different from the scissor sisters but the beat is so catchy i can’t get enough!!…(of jake shears – i want to eat him)
Thanks again for everyone who donated a toy at the WISH TOY DRIVE! This letter is also for you!
Out with the old and in with the new! RIGHTTT…. If there was one thing you could not leave behind in 2011 – it was the GLITTER! Glitter was all over your hair, your body, in your drinks, shoes, bed, and all over Twitter and Facebook the next morning! When you thought you washed it all out, in the right reflection there sits a glimmer of 2011 beneath your eye. It’s crazy how small speckles of particle made such a big impact! Thank you so much to James Wilkinson for capturing all the highlights of the evening!
The Eve of 2012 goes in my history books not because of the glitter, be-cause it’s always a treat seeing all the old faces coming together one last time before we head into a new exciting chapter. LAVISH New Years Eve has always been about ‘local company’. With all the out of town students gone and London locals coming back home for the holidays, it’s a very home-y evening which is always extra special. A special thanks goes out to our local entertainers, Leigha Divine-Dior, Cardiff & Victoria Moore. I must add, Cardiff really stepped it up with her ‘Marry The Night’ performance and props to Victoria Moore for sewing her own evening gown! A special thanks also goes out to Laura Gagnon for hopping on board last minute to sing Auld Lang Syne live for the very first time at LAVISH (her voice gives me the chills)!
So enough with the sappy shit, what’s new and exciting at LAVISH for 2012? A sexy summer! You can blame that on ELEVATE (the top) above LAVISH (the bottom). We are SOOO excited to reveal our biggest renovation since opening! ELEVATE (new roof top patio) is opening this summer, and if the world doesn’t end in 2012 then we can even use it again in 2013 – How amazing!!!
I leave you with a little video memory below from the countdown as I start my New Year Resolution – eat healthier, get back into shape, treat myself more and pay off my MASSIVE rooftop patio debt (because no one wants to dance on cheap patio that might collapse through the roof).
See you next weekend,
Thank you to the THOUSANDS of TMA viewers that tune in everyday for the latest in men, music & more! We hope you have a magical Christmas…enjoy our selection of Christmas Diva’s (+Justin Bieber) Live!
