[MUSIC NEWS] Britney Spears and Jason Trawick Split
It’s official: Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have called it quits.
“Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement,” her rep Jeff Raymond tells PEOPLE exclusively. “As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends.”
Spears and Trawick confirmed their parting in a statement her rep released to PEOPLE.
“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement,” Spears says in the statement. “I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”
Adds Trawick: “As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”
The former The X Factor judge, 31, and Trawick began dating in 2009 and got engaged on Trawick’s 40th birthday in December of 2011.
The news of the breakup comes on the same day that Spears announced she would not be returning to The X Factor.
Spears has two sons, Preston, 7, and Jayden, 6, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. The couple divorced in 2006.

Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange doesn’t hit shelves until July 17th, but BBC radio’s Max caught a listen and says that Ocean, a ghostwriter for Justin Bieber, Beyonce, John Legend and also a vocal talent in his own right, basically comes out. Instead of using “her” in love songs, he blatantly uses “him”.

[Ocean] has been holding listening parties all over the world, most recently in London, and after giving Channel Orange a spin, BBC 1 radio personality Max reported back on lyrics that would seemingly out Ocean as gay.
“Frank has also opened up about his sexuality on the album, we think it’s brave and admire him for being so honest and sharing such a personal aspect of his life through his music,” Max said. “On the songs ‘Bad Religion’ ‘Pink Matter and ‘Forrest Gump’ you can hear him sing about being in love and their are quite obvious words used like ‘him’ and not ‘her.’
The site also notes that Bossip.com recently ran a blind item suggesting Frank Ocean was prepping for a coming out party.
There’s been plenty of speculation about this hot young r&b star’s sexuality, but most of it has been drowned out by the adoration by fans and famous alike. After keeping folks guessing in 2011, this soul singer will answer any questions about which team he’s swinging for with his upcoming musical release.
If this is indeed about Ocean and he is coming out, the 24-year old and his many famous friends, like Jay-Z and Kanye West, could become leading figures in combating homophobia in hip-hop.

A straight character on True Blood will be entering into a gay relationship this season.
“…perhaps no transformation in the show’s colorful history will come as quite as great a shock as the one that we find out about during the HBO hit’s ferociously anticipated fourth season, premiering June 26: A major character, heretofore heterosexual, will be involved in a same-sex romance. I’m not going to reveal any more clues about the character…so as not to risk getting fanged by series creator Alan Ball. However, I will say that, having witnessed the big reveal, it doesn’t feel gimmicky. In fact, after the initial shock wears off, I imagine you will do what I did and go, ‘Yeah. Makes total sense.’”
